Support and Service Technician (Field and Office based)

- Based in Spalding, Lincolnshire, UK with nationwide customer site visits
- 40 hours per week (Plus possible overtime)
This is an exciting opportunity to provide first class support to a diverse range of businesses, from government, defence, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and educational organisations
This position involves both working on customer sites and at our offices in Spalding. The ideal candidate would be within easy commuting distance of our offices. We would envisage that the average working month would involve around half your time being spent at our offices and half at customer sites. Due to the national nature of our customers, there would be a requirement for overnight stays.
Key responsibilities
- Provide remote and field based technical and service support to end users and installers.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues with our hardware and software and web-based client software
- Provide remote systems training as required
- Recreate and troubleshoot issues experienced in the field or during support cases using our test equipment including hardware and software
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues through detailed analysis of system generated log files
- Collaborate closely with development and engineering teams raising software bug tickets and clearly detail investigations and findings
- Perform remote software and device updates in line with agreed scope of work
- Working closely with the Technical Support manager to evolve Technical Support and service processes that involve customer experience and drive efficiency
- Contribute product feature and development suggestions
- Complete all service forms reports and documentation and maintain CRM accordance with service management policy
- Ensure that systems are serviced in accordance with our guideline requirements
Core requirements
- Experience with technical systems (electronics, IT, telecoms, security systems) in a previous
- Eager to learn and be proactive in finding solutions
- Keen to travel nationally (deister vehicles, train, plane) and stay overnight if required
- Work well on your own and as part of a team
- Be polite and patient, yet outgoing and a strong communicator
- Experience in providing customer service (Preferred)
